In 2016, as part of the National Conference on Telemedicine in Hanoi Vietnam 2016, the following group was created as aproject by the KfW, a telepathology group was set up at the Bach Mai Hospital, is only used sporadically for second opinion. Bach Mai Hospital is a multi-field medical facility in Hanoi and is considered one of the largest in Vietnam. The hospital was established in 1911 during the French colonial rule. It played important role in the health system of Vietnam and is one of three high specialized medical centers, specializing on internal medicine. It is a big center of cadres training and scientific research in the country. The facility has a department for foreigners with English speaking staff able to treat serious cases.
